You are working as a photographer, graphic designer, music video director and also as a producer. You have proved your skills in all these branches. Personally, which one of them do you enjoy most and why?

Photography and music videos. But today, I decide to slow down the musci video because most of the artists in France sucks! And the good one don’t have money to make some.

Where do you start when you take a video clip job? If the song doesn't appeal to you, do you feel uncomfortable about it, or the pleasure of visualizing music suppresses that feeling?

I do only music video for music and artist I like. I don’t do it for money ! Never ! I first listen the song and try to feel the vibe. I try to adjust my vision to what the artist want or need.

Your first music video was for Nina Hagen's "In My World" single. Could you please tell us about the shooting process? What did you learn from this first experiment?

It was my first experience. I had never seen a 35 film camera before, so I was very curious and exciting. Nina trust me a lot so I was feeling secure...

How did the cinema become a part of your life? How do you evaluate the Hollywood cinema which rules the cinema industry? Do you think there is a lack of reality or truth, or do you think it should expose a perfect, magnificent world?

I decide to become a film director (and a screenplay writer) for a beautifull girl... When I was 20! Since, I never give up and I hope 2006 will be the year of my first movie!

Hollywood is dead! But they have so much money to hide the non-inspiration so the business is still ok, even if the lost 30% of customers in 2005. Today, the Korean and Mexican directors are on the top of creation and originality.

What do you think about the digital imaging technology? In your opinion, can we see the times when digital cameras reach the quality of negatives?

I use digital camera which have 22 or 39 millions pixels! And it still low compare to a 6x7 film camera (like Hasselblad or Mamiya) but I was the first to believe and doing in digital post production. (since 1987!)

Imagine that you have an unlimited budget and you have chance to work with all actors and actresses you want. What would your film look like and who would be in the cast especially?

Hard to say, you know, big budget is very hard to manage because you have so much pressure! And big actress are the same. So I will prefer to start like I am doing right now: with a very low budget and young actors and actress, so I can keep my freedom! I think it is very exciting to discover a young actress or actors, because it's all fresh and strong! And fragile too... I like that.

Do you think fame is important?

Fame sucks! Ego sucks, jalousy sucks, hypocrysi sucks too. I am very happy to be behind the camera and not in front! So I can keep my simple life with my good friends.

Can you tell us about your Vanity9 project?

V9 was created just after the Janet Jackson video. I was tired about big budget and I want it to proove you can make video with a regular video camera. I was also very sick about MTV shit video which have so much editing for nothin, only to blow your eyes with empty images. So I decide to make 22 videos without editing, without rehearsal too. Only the post production add some dynamic but I didn't cut anything of it. It was a real and pure improvisaton from me and the girls.

Theme of our second issue is "White". What does this word mean to you firstly?

White means light for me, but white means rich asshole people too... Today, everything looks "white" and clean, but most of the time, behind the scene, it is very dirty and full of manipulations.

"Hollywood is dead! But they have so much money to hide the non-inspiration so the business is still ok."
