- You started photography when you were 23. What were you doing before this time and what made you choose photography?

Oh my; I quit school at the age of 18 primarily to become a “grand huit" land pilot. At the end of two years, I got interested in jobs such as being a barman and kitchen marketing in concerts and exhibitions to be able to catch the socio-cultural animations in general. Then at the age of 33, I joined the army as a commando. It was when I returned from the army that I decided to get involved in black and white photography with my 135 compact zoom enlarger. And I developed my own style to become what I am in that period.

- Famous photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt says; "When I have a camera in my hand, I know no fear." According to you, what makes photography such a big power and passion?

- Some of your photographs are just like speaking French with their color balances and atmospheres. Does Paris inspire you sometimes?

If I had the chance, I think New York, Hong Kong or Los Angeles could have impressed me more:) But of course Paris is romantic, it is the city of lights. ..

- Your name and the term "Glamour / Fashion Photographer" are like attached to each other. Do you think this kind of photographs are being consumed quickly and are you interested in some other types of photography, too?

Everything can be glamorous; this totally depends on the point of view that one looks at to objects. Personally I enjoy photographing male or female models with all their grace.

- You say "The most important thing in taking a good fashion photograph is to forget about shooting the model". Can you explain this statement?

I believe that my job is to catch visuals that I would enjoy to hang on my wall. As a result, the photograph has to be beautiful either with brigitte or with someone else. Model is not the most significant factor here; ambience, setting and a meaningful whole whcih awakens powerful and permanent feelings are what matter the most. A good portrait, for me, is one which awakens pleasant feelings no matter who the model is.

- Let's go back to the moment when you look through the viewfinder, just before pressing the shutter. What makes you think: "This is the right picture"?

Sometimes I think that I did a good job, but mostly I am like "no, no, no something better can be done".

- Which one do you prefer, indoor or outdoor photography?

I am especially interested in beautiful settings; I care very much about the background and the artistic getup.

- Can you share one of your most interesting memories in your photo shoots with us?

My problem is that those moments are bad memories for me.

- What do you think of experiments in digital imaging? Manipulating photos and so on?

I like to take pictures where the invisible is only numeric.

- Are you interested in cinema? What do you think about Hollywood movies?

I am more interested in videos but at the same time I love the cinema and the beautiful light fictions.

- Which books, photographers and artists have most influenced your own artistic efforts?

Mondino, la chapelle, Sante d'orazio, Jonvelle, lindbergh are the photographers who affect me deeply.

- Theme of our third issue is "old". What does this word mean to you? Paris in old times, old movies, your childhood, or something else?
